THE STORY:
I had a pilot take me out for a few flights over the rockies to capture photos I could later use as inspiration. I’ve been in a lot of small planes over the years but these flights were ridiculously fun. Instead of a casual sightseeing tour of a the mountain ranges we found ourselves in wild turbulance, buzzing crystal clear mountain lakes and circling sharply around mountain peaks. I barely had a chance to catch my breath as we flew from one feature to another.
This is a selection of a few perspectives that would have been captured in a very short period of time.
Like so many of my artworks, this one pays tribute to the wild places we have the privilege to protect and call home.
